IFESINACHI NWADIKE
Scene 1: Of a Car Burning;
Vom! It went up
In crimson flames
Red-blooded tongues
Licked its bluish body
To the chagrin of empty extinguishers.
Scene 2: Of Tyre Explosion;
Gboa! Came the fear-gripping sound
Bomb scares & highway raids
The reassuring gasps & escaping hot breaths
That it is from the lot of tired tyres of a Dangote truck.
Scene 3: Of a Carnage Victim;
He lay mashed and sprawled
On the tarmac like crushed tomatoes
The killer truck breathing in majestic victory
By the roadside, facing the bush
The hurray of flies & vultures-
Agony of snuffed humanity.
