The Chapel Choir | Olobo Ejile

(cover photograph direction: Tobi Amida)

for Muyiwa

In this solemn melody of the chapel choir,

that carries the ghostly silhouette of his lover,

who long passed on — his tears unfurled,

with the same rhythm, as the keyboardist’s

fingers softly strikes each key and note,

he hums along, still weeping in-between

exaltation of God and in memory

of his dead.
