Ask these questions
Ask these questions to the wind that carries a leaf floating gently in air and settles on a pavement
Ask these questions to the sun bathing the empty streets into stillness
With orange rays that peeks through the cricking corners of darkness
Ask these questions for clarity
For wisdom and understanding
For answers and rationality
Ask these questions for the sake of the thoughts leaking off your pen
For serenity
For the curiosity rising inside of your chest
Ask for the anger coursing through your veins
Make peace with it
Make peace with it
Sit from a framed window 3 stories high
Watch the gliding daylight draw nigh
From leaves flailing on the wings of hope
To branches lingering in eulogy
Watch the invitation of birds that sing
To the trees dancing in the wind
Refuse to let this ignorance silence your pain
Ask the night for stars
And the star for light
Ask if it saunters or crawls
Ask if it weeps when it falls?
Watch the sky burst into stories
Let those stories fill your heart with pleasant memories
Let it soak you like rain and soothe your pain
And when it does
Make peace with it
Make peace with it.
