Nzube Nlebedim is a Nigerian essayist, short story writer and editor. The author of At Night Men Take the Lonely Way Back Home, a collection of thirteen creative nonfiction essays on time and roots, in 2024, he was selected for the Granta Longform Journalism Workshop, and the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora (LOATAD) residency. He served on the jury of the 2024 Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Prize. Nlebedim served in 2021 as the West African field editor of African Oil and Power, Mauritius.
Junaid Ahmed Ahangar works as a doctor in a tertiary care institute in Srinagar, Kashmir. He graduated from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and completed his MD in Medicine from Srinagar, Kashmir. He also has an MA in English Literature from India and is currently in the second year of MA in Philosophy. He devotes his time between his profession and passions which over the last few years has seen a conscious departure towards writing poetry and prose. He is also a singer-songwriter and occasional guitarist with other interests apart from literary pursuits, like music, film-making, podcasting and theology. His poems appear in The San Antonio Review, The Shallow Tales Review, The Hellebore Press, Midsummer Dream House, The Argyle Literary Magazine, The Passionfruit Review, Osmosis Press, and Outside the box Poetry Literary Magazine. His short stories appear in The Argyle Literary Magazine, and LoftBooks Volume V. He is a 2025 Pushcart Nominee. Orji Victor Ebubechukwu is the Non-fiction editor of The Shallow Tales Review. An alumnus of the Esther Ifesinachi Okonkwo Writers Workshop, his writings have appeared in Isele Magazine and elsewhere. His short story, “A Delicate Dream,” was highlighted as one of the best African short stories of 2023 by Afrocritik. He contributes features and reviews for Open Country Magazine, and lives in Port Harcourt.
Uche Anaekwe is a book reviewer and editor. She reads and writes reviews of over a hundred books yearly and has worked closely with publishing houses in Nigeria, including Masobe Books and Narrative Landscape Press, to promote the best of African and Nigerian Literature. An avid reader and a lover of good music and sports, Anaekwe currently resides in France where she is pursuing her masters degree.
Boakye D. Alpha is a Ghanaian writer, filmmaker, creative entrepreneur and a Global Voices Scholar at UEA. He writes poetry, prose, screenplays and creative nonfiction and has been published in GUAP Magazine, Lolwe, The Shallow Tales Review, and others. His short story was longlisted for the 2025 Commonwealth Short Story Prize.
Boakye’s work often addresses issues of identity, gender-based violence, and the lived realities of underrepresented voices. As a screenwriter/director, his projects have aired on television networks and streaming platforms across Africa, some of which have been awarded at international and African film festivals.
Boakye is also a recipient of the Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund, the MultiChoice Talent Factory Scholarship for emerging African filmmakers, and the African Union’s MoveAfrica Grant.
Catherine Okunola is a writer and digital storyteller. She writes about the things we ignore, the ones we hide, those we survive and those we love.
Okunola is the author of Her Breakfast Episodes, a riveting account of heartbreak’s tales, or “Breakfast” as we now call it. In 2021, she curated an anthology with her team, titled, Omoo: What Happened to 2020, a collection of short stories, poems, and artworks. She worked in 2023 as Marketing/Editorial assistant at Masobe Books, Nigeria’s leading publishing outfit.
She lives in Ibadan, Nigeria, where you might find her writing, dreaming, reading or feeding her very opinionated cat.
