Dusky mortar, mother of black mortals
With a beauty, akin to the rose petals
She sighs, inhale – a balm of affection
She, a daffodil in a summer’s twilight
That never wither amidst lethargy.
Tribute is owed to a species of female-hood
Gratitude to them, icons of sisterhood
Their wealth is the wreath, worth motherhood.
Each morn I celebrate you in your new mood
For your statue is the pinnacle of goodness.

Painted black, tainted in cosmetics
Identity escape, trading greasepaints
Like a street beggar battling for peanuts
Thus, blurred the plasma of naturality.
Retain the breed of docile fibers.
