Frozen

tinder roughshod underfoot

twigs and leaves crack the edge

20 leagues of mist

acapella

an early frost shocks the forested desert

still hawking its firestarter and touchwood

still hoping for forgiveness and awakenings

emboldened

the midnight sun bows

and takes the cool hand of Winter

into the trees
