I’ll make a red hot spring at where the tributary was
Something for tourists, in the aftermath
Had to pick jackass-hair kisses off my teeth each minute,
Too many wrong choices,
There’s been a slaying in the subway
The chamber is cramped
Tyler did a somersault over the debris
Got himself a spot on the world record
Zia put together an old wagon from broken train pieces
He harvested from the jammed tunnel
This cellar is so dark
Even AM bands can’t get through,
shrrrtshhhh, no reception
All I hear is the dull waves
Has his blood dried up yet?
I mean the goofer who nosedived into the track
Before the wreckage happened
He looked such a Cupid baby
But this suicide note must get to his mother
My last obligation to the smoke-headed lovelorn
Rebekah Ebere
is an avid reader who loves penning antique pieces over background classical music. Some of her literary write-ups appear in anthologies such as Gemini Spice Magazine, CAP magazine and Kukoo. She has also delved into stage and off-stage acting. When she is not reading or writing, she is working as a project assistant for literary events and living a godly life. She was a project assistant for the British Council Abuja Consumption By Moonlight monthly events. In 2017, Ebere launched her own event hosting platform, Bellamor Bridals, which caters for ushering and staffing of events. That same year she penned her first literary piece, “Untold,” a Sabbath sonnet on hidden love. Her piece, Election Day, was accepted for publication by Brittle Paper during the 2019 general elections in Nigeria.
Aside writing, Rebekah Ebere is building a career in Oncology and participates in several cancer awareness campaigns in Abuja and Kaduna. She hopes to connect with, teach and heal people through her works.
